Americans aren't shy about showing love to their four-legged friends. More than half of the respondents in a new Beneful Baked Delights poll say hugging their dog puts a smile on their face, and 55-percent admit the dog hugs put them in a better mood. Nearly 40-percent say hugging their dog gives them momentary relief from the stresses in their lives. Nearly 70-percent add that they hug their dogs more than they embrace some of the people in their lives. Thirty-percent will give their pup a squeeze more often than their relatives, while 26-percent hug Fido more frequently than their best friends. Ten-percent of the women polled say their dogs get more hugs from them than their spouse. The majority also believe the love between them and their dogs is a two-way street. Over 60-percent say their dog reacts affectionately to their hugs.
