Pancreatic Cancer Vaccine Gives Patients Hope

A new vaccine is giving some pancreatic cancer patients hope for the future at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick.  The vaccine works by stopping the cancer's chokehold on the immune system, thereby allowing the body to fight back.  Four out of six patients who are participating in a clinical trial are still alive and clinically stable.  Two others left the clinic shortly after starting the regimen and they died within two years.
