Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley is in support of the new White House policy on illegal immigrants. The 1st District Democrat said yesterday there needs to be a real discussion about finding a long-term solution and disagreed with the view of Republicans like Mitt Romney that the move was political. Braley said too many politicians use immigration reform as a political football and ignore the real issues faced in resolving the problems. He said the harsh reality is all segments of the Iowa economy rely on immigrant labor, and a first step was needed to give people who were brought here by their parents a real shot at being productive members of society.
