Ex-Governor George Ryan's Attorneys Seek Release From Prison

Attorneys for former Governor George Ryan were in court yesterday, seeking
to have their client released from prison. Ryan has served nearly five years of his six and a half year sentence fraud and racketeering charges. His lawyers are asking for him to be freed on grounds that the jury that convicted him hadn't received adequate instructions. If the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals doesn't rule in his favor, Ryan isn't due to leave prison until next July.
