Mary L. Jackson, 71, of Moline, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 17th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Todd Smith will officiate. Burial will be at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Andover, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Mary Jackson Memorial Fund.
Mary Lee Simmons was born June 12, 1940 in Humansville, MO, the daughter of Jesse A. and Inez G. McBride Simmons. She was educated in Galva and LaFayette schools. Her marriage to L. C. Jackson took place on May 13, 1961 in Kewanee. He passed away October 4, 1988. Mary was a homemaker and liked going to yard sales and playing bingo. In the early years, she and her husband enjoyed dancing.
Those surviving are two daughters, Brenda Lee Jackson and Wanda (Dale) Abrahamsen, all of Davenport, and a son, Ricky Jackson, Hiawatha, IA. Other survivors include four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Zelma Phelps, Kewanee. Her parents, her husband, a sister, and three brothers preceded her in death.
