Florence E. Anthony, 82, a resident of Royal Oaks Nursing Home, Kewanee, formerly of Sheffield passed into heaven on March 18, 2012 to be with her savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Florence was born March 30, 1929 in Haywood County, North Carolina. She grew up in Gastonia NC and married George Anthony on Feb. 17, 1945 in North Carolina. He died in 1991. Florence and her husband had a radio bible ministry in Joliet, IL. She loved yard work, gardening and sewing.
Florence took great pride in her children. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Darlene Anthony, Athens, Alabama and daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Clay Farless, Manchester, Tennessee. Four grandchildren and five great granddaughters also survive as well as her best care giver and friend, Julie Vocke, Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
