Bessie J. Weber, 96, of Geneseo died Friday, April 06, 2012 at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10th atConcordiaLutheranChurch, Geneseo. Rev. Christopher Bushre will officiate. Burial will be inOakwoodCemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services,225 E. Park St.Geneseo. Bessie June Gradert was born June 1, 1915 inCornwallTownship, Henry County, IL the daughter of Louis and Elsie (Rahn) Gradert. She married Raymond Weber on April 27, 1935 in Geneseo. He died on Nov. 4, 1975. Bessie farmed with her husband inEdfordTownshipuntil 1961. She had also worked at Farber & Larimer Grocery, Geneseo and atHammond-HenryHospital. She had cleaned atSt. John’sChurchfor many years and had also done cleaning for the funeral homes in Geneseo and for other residences in Geneseo area.
She was a member ofSt. John’sLutheranChurch, Edford Twp. and the Adult Fellowship of the church, Henry Co. Farm Bureau and a bunko club. She enjoyed arts and crafts, playing cards, flower gardening, camping and fishing.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta (Art) Glazier, Geneseo; a son, Robert Weber, Cambridge; daughter-in-law, Doris Weber, Orion; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother Donald Gradert, Geneseo and 2 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Stanley, 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
