Edna M. Lee, 89, of Kewanee, formerly of Sheffield and Decatur, AL, passed away at 2:35 PM, Monday, April 9. 2012 at Colonial Hall Nursing Home in Princeton, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 13 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Renee Kindle will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Relay for Life or to the Henry County Humane Society.
She was born March 19, 1923 in Fiatt, IL, the daughter of Watson and Zella (Worley) Hood. She first married Fred Franklin King on May 6, 1939. She later married Robert E. Lee on January 22, 1966 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2002. Survivors include six daughters, Joyce (Jimmie) Dison of Toulon, Linda (Terry) Kerner of Sheffield, Bonnie Sue (Donnie) Cowan and Karen Murray, both of Decatur, AL, Vicki (Gary) Maupin and Rose (Walter) Nelson, both of Wyanet, IL, three sons, Robert E. (Barb) Lee of Milan and Jimmy (Diane) Lee and Ronnie A. Lee, both of Wyanet and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, a son-in-law, a grandson and a great granddaughter.
Edna had worked at Kressgies, Tastee Freeze and the Jupiter store. She was a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed bird watching, doing crossword puzzles, quilting, sewing, crocheting, dancing, cooking, pie baking and going to the Flemish American Club. She taught everyone the very basics of life.
