Sharon Kay Nimrick, 65, of Kewanee, Il. died at 2:45 A.M. Monday, June 11,, 2012 at Kewanee Hospital. Sharon Kay was born August 10, 1946 in Kewanee, Il. the daughter of Aaron and Lillian (Nelson) Moon She was reared and educated in Buda and Kewanee. Sharon Kay married Jack Nimrick on June 21, 1969 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Rick, a granddaughter Samantha, three sisters Vivian, Doris and Dorothy and one brother Jerry Moon
Surviving are four sons Tim (Tara) Riggs of Springfield, Il., Jack Allen (Kim) Nimrick, Jeff (Jeri) Nimrick and Troy Crist all of Kewanee, four daughters Janie Brimhall , Jackie (Bill) Garms, Jean Ann “Boo” (Mike) Hall and Amy (Kevin) Newton all of Kewanee, 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two brothers William (Leatha) Moon, Robert (Mary Lou) Moon, four sisters Darlene Moore, Beverly Philhower, Jean Schuman and Deb (Keith) Davis all of Kewanee, Il., numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon Kay was employed as a CNA at local nursing homes and later owned and operated Kay’s Corner Antiques.
Sharon Kay enjoyed playing Bingo, she enjoyed taking care of people through her work and she was the best mom and grandma in the whole world.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 14, 2012 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the services and private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Il. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
