Baseball. Redbirds Win Game One; Advance to Face Missouri State

Chad Hinshaw went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run, and Chris Razo allowed just one run while striking out five in 7.0 innings of a run-ruled, eight-inning, 11-1 Illinois State victory against Bradley in the opening day of the Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship, Tuesday at Duffy Bass Field.

Baseball. Top-Seeded Redbirds Open MVC Championship, Host Bradley

After winning the Missouri Valley Conference outright for the first time in program history, the Illinois State Redbirds (36-18, 16-5 MVC) return to Duffy Bass Field as the top seed in this weeks Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which runs May 21-25 at Duffy Bass Field. This marks the first year the Redbirds are hosting the season-ending tournament. It is also the first time Illinois State has been the top-seeded team in the field of eight.

Illinois State Athletics is ready to hire the next PA Voice of the Redbirds and encourages interested individuals to apply through one of two ways. The Illinois State Athletics Department will look to fill the positions of Redbird football and men's basketball public address announcer, by asking interested community members to submit online videos, highlighting their announcing skills.

Illinois State landed MiKyle McIntosh, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward who signed to continue his education and basketball career at ISU, head basketball coach Dan Muller announced Thursday.
