The Super Bowl champion New York Giants and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will both be featured in primetime the first week of the NFL season. The league has released its complete 2012 regular-season slate. The Giants will kick off the campaign Wednesday, September 5th against the Dallas Cowboys on NBC. Manning will make his Broncos debut at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" September 9th. ESPN's Week One "Monday Night Football" doubleheader features Cincinnati at Baltimore and San Diego at Oakland.
Highly-touted rookie quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin the Third could both make their NFL debuts on the road in Week One. The Indianapolis Colts open in Chicago against the Bears, while the Washington Redskins take on the Saints in New Orleans. Luck is expected to be the first overall pick by the Colts in next week's draft, with RG3 likely to go to the Redskins at number-two.
Manning and the Broncos will appear on "MNF" in Week Two against the Falcons in Atlanta. Tim Tebow's first chance to be in the primetime spotlight will be in Week Five when the New York Jets host the Houston Texans on Monday night. Tebow and New York will also be part of a Thanksgiving tripleheader that has Houston at Detroit, Washington at Dallas and the Jets hosting New England.
